Our Podiatrist will assess your feet and help you understand why you are experiencing problems.
The Podiatrist will professionally treat and offer expert advice on all nail conditions including ingrowing and thickened nails.
Calluses and corns will be reduced using refined scalpel techniques.
The podiatrist will also offer advice on footwear and insoles and will organise a regular programme to ensure healthy, pain free feet.
Podiatric biomechanics involves the assessment of the structure, alignment and function of the feet and legs.
Detailed assessment of underlying structure and function can help to identify factors that may be causing or contributing to discomfort or an injury you have suffered.
Common injuries seen by a Podiatrist are shin pain, arch pain, plantar fasciitis, knee pain, lower back pain, big toe joint pain, achilles tendon pain, heel pain and many more.
Evaluating how we walk is central to understanding the pathomechanics that lead to injury. As part of the biomechanical assessment the Podiatrist will first undertake an assessment of your walking and running technique, which will in turn provide a more accurate diagnosis of any underlying condition.
The use of special shoe inserts (orthoses) can help to control the way in which the foot and therefore legs function and thus reduce discomfort. However, orthoses are often used in conjunction with other treatment modalities, shoe advice and appropriate rehabilitation.
